CLUTCH is the world’s first extended UTR Verified Ladder, where players can challenge other players and organize matches on their own courts at convenient times. Each match will be a verified UTR match and count towards your UTR rating.

REGISTRATION PROCESS ( 2 STEPS)
Step 1 – UTR Ladder Event Page
- Sign in here – https://app.utrsports.net/events/332391
- If you already have a UTR profile: click the ‘Registration‘ button on the page and proceed with the payment. No further action is required. Results will be updated weekly by our UTR Admin Team and you can check your own progress.
- If you do not yet have a UTR profile: you will need to claim or search for your profile on UTR before registering: Click HERE for step by step instructions for how to do this.
Step 2 – Clutch Ladder App

- Once registered, our Admin Team will add you to the actual CLUTCH Ladder.
- You will then receive a welcome email with instructions on how to download the CLUTCH Ladder App (www.tennisrungs.com) and log in.
- Players then use this App to schedule matches, issue challenges, and record results.
Viewing Your Results
Players will be able to track their results in both the Tennis Rungs Ladder App and on the UTR Ladder Event Page.
- Tennis Rungs App: Used by players for scheduling matches, issuing challenges, and inputting scores.
- UTR Ladder Event Page: Managed by our UTR Admin Team to verify all results and update official UTR ratings weekly.
Ladder Joining Fee
- HK$600-HK$682 per player for the 11-month season (Jan-Nov)
- Players may still register at any time during the Ladder season.
Format of Play
- Each match is a 6-game set (normal tie-break at 6 games all).
- Each match will be played with sudden death deuce, receiver’s choice.
- Adult categories will play with normal service lets.
- Junior categories will play no-let rules.
- If a match cannot be completed, the result will be entered as it is. The result will count towards your Tennis Rungs ladder position, but you will need to complete the match for the result to have any UTR verified weighting.
Reporting Score
- The winning player MUST enter the match score in the Tennis Rungs Ladder App, and then our Admin Team will update the result on the UTR Ladder Event Page every Monday.
Ladder Rules
- Initial Ladder Placings: After joining, players will initially be added to Ladder positions by the Ladder Referee, based on a combination of their current UTR rating, WTN, ITF Ranking, HK Ranking and/or HK League Grading.
- Challenges: Using the Tennis Rungs Ladder App, players may issue one challenge at a time.
A player can only be challenged by one opponent at a time.
You may challenge opponents up to five positions above you. - Court Booking & Fees: The Challenger books and pays for the court. If a guest fee applies at a private club, it should be shared equally and communicated in advance.
- Balls: Each player brings one new can of balls. One can is used for the match and the winner takes the unopened can.
- Ranking Adjustment: If the Challenger wins, they take the challenged player’s position, who moves down one spot.
Response Time: A player must “Accept” or “Deny” a challenge within 4 days. Failure to respond results in a forfeit win for the Challenger. - Match Deadline: Once accepted, a challenge must be played within 10 days.
- A player may “Deny” the same challenger only twice in one month. A third Denial will result in a forfeit loss.
- If a match is not played within 10 days, the challenge expires and must be re-issued (subject to current rankings).
- Warm-up Time: Maximum 5 minutes, unless court time allows otherwise.
- Travel &/or Injury Suspension: Players may apply to the Ladder Manager to suspend their position on the Ladder for up to one month in case of injury or travel out of HK. During this time, the player will not be required to accept or issue any challenges and will maintain their position on the Ladder.

Clutch Coins
- Upon successful registration, you will receive 10 virtual Clutch Coins.
- 1 match played = 1 coin.
- You MUST have at least ONE Clutch Coin in your “account” to make a Challenge.
- If you win your match, you will gain a Clutch Coin from your opponent (and your opponent will lose one of their Clutch Coins). Our Admin team will track your Clutch Coins for you. We will remind you when you need to top-up your coins, should you be close to losing them all 😊.

- At the end of the ladder, you will be able to trade your Clutch Coins for special rewards. These rewards will be given at the Prize Presentation in December 2026 (Clutch Coins cannot be exchanged for money or sold to other players).
Top-up Clutch Coin Fees
- 10 Clutch Coins = HK$600
- 20 Clutch Coins = HK$1,100
- 30 Clutch Coins = HK$1,500
